When playing live, Kelly Jones tunes his acoustic guitar down 1/2 step to Eb (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb) so
he can play the song using open chords. To transpose this tab to play it this way -which is better for
solo/acoustic guitar, tune your guitar down to Eb then go to the bottom of the tab and where it shows
‘TRANSPOSE’, click ‘+1’ one time, this will then show chords as:
Intro: Am C Am G
Verse: C Em7 Dm F G -disregard the 'A#m C# A#m G# chords that show up in the intro after transposing,
they're all Am and C.
Chord forms used:

I'd never been that far away from home

We made a few records, top of the charts
D#m7
Flew around the world, became big stars
C#m
Climbed up the ladder, broke some hearts
E F#*
Drank a million beers in a thousand bars
B
I met another girl, had a couple of kids
D#m7
It didn't work out, but what a gift

I met my soul, became my wife

My lover, my rock, we're in it for life
B
Life's got a way of making things pay
D#m7
No matter how hard we try to refrain

Fate or love or chance we deal

Or that beautiful word's serendipity, oh, yeah

[Verse 2]
B
I met my uncle at the boxing ring
D#m7
It wasn't punching people, it was discipline
C#m
They lied, I was older, all the fights I'd win
E F#*
Stays with me today, even when I sing
B
Then I met temptation or did it rape me?
D#m7
It took me for a ride 'til I couldn't see
C#m
Like a candy shop with all you can eat
E F#*
No money back and no guarantees
B
I met the disease of the mind and the fears
D#m7
And all the time it robbed from me
C#m
(I) tried to integrate the child and the man
E F#*
Just before it slips through my hands
B
My love, my children, everything changed
D#m7
Weight of the world, ball and a chain
C#m
Like a boat in a storm without a sail
E F#*
Navigating life and love and grace
B
I met this world in the corridor
D#m7
In front of many people, I was born to perform
C#m
Reconcile the passion and the rage
E F#* E
I made it this far, keep turning the page, oh, yeah
[Chorus]
B G#m
Where would I be now if I hadn't met you?
F# E
Right place, right time, oh, yeah, yeah
B G#m
Where would I be now if I hadn't met you?
F#
Right place, right time
E B G#m
Oh, yeah, yeah, where would I be now if I hadn't met you?
